TALO -Projekt
Athletics House for Everyone Project
Lappeenrannan Urheilu-Miehet is participating in the Athletics House for Everyone Project (TALO project), led by the Finnish Athletics Federation. The main goal of the project is to develop national and local action and cooperation models to engage children, young people, and families with immigrant backgrounds, increase their well-being and integrate them into Finnish society through track and field club activities. Participation-promoting models will be developed in collaboration with professionals from various organizations and children, young people, and families with immigrant backgrounds. The project aims to create new networks and service chains across various environments to support the development of participation at the grassroots level of club activities.
The three-year project, which began in September 2024, is partially funded by the European Union. With the support of the project, workers have been hired for each pilot club to advance development work.
The European Social Fund (ESF) is one of the European Union's most important financial instruments to promote employment, as well as economic and social cohesion among the member states. ESR+ is a EU regional and structural policy fund aimed at promoting employment, skills, inclusion, equality and gender equality.
